I'm Joe Fratianni, a climber, skier and alpinist. Transplanted from the USA in the early 1990's, I live my life under the limestone walls of Kalymnos, in the north-eastern alps of Austria and in the mountains of North America. I have been sport climbing on Kalymnos since the time when the first routes were established there. I'm an Austrian State Certified Instructor in all climbing, skiing and alpine disciplines, educational program instructor and tour guide for the Austrian Alpinverein Salzburg and a professional member of American Mountain Guides Association pursuing UIAA/IFMGA certification as an international mountain guide. I am currently an apprentice AMGA/IFMGA mountain guide.

Fundamental elements of climbing, natural movement, expert custom-tailored instruction, honest real-world fitness, an active outdoor lifestyle, rediscovering play, trusting yourself, exceeding limitations
Bringing to Kalymnos over twenty-five years of international experience in leading courses, instructing and teaching skills in all types of alpine situations and climbing disciplines.
Repeatedly referred to in the international climbing press as a "climbers paradise", I'm fortunate to spend time with climbers every year from late-spring into the autumn months on this magical island. Sun, the vibrant energy, warmth of hospitality, all make up the rhythm of a climbing life on a Greek island
